Official Twitter app for Windows 8 is available in Windows Store….yes, finally!!!
It was about time that Twitter released an official app for Windows 8. As Twitter has been limiting API access to third-party apps – users are either forced to use Twitter on the website or through a program that hasn’t reached its API limit. But with this official Twitter app for Windows 8, they don’t have to worry about that.
Official Twitter app for Windows 8 brings uses Windows 8 technology and is available for Desktop and RT both platforms. Below are some feature highlights:
- The Discover (#) icon shows trends and activities from people in your network
- The Share charm makes it easier to tweet links, pictures and opinions to your followers from anywhere in Windows 8.
- Use Snap view on Windows 8 by dragging Twitter into the narrow side of the screen to work on another favorite app simultaneously.

To get started just download the Official Twitter app for Windows 8 from Store and log in with your Twitter username and password.
This official Twitter app is in fact very limited as of now and doesn’t include other feature you would expect – such as lists, multiple account support. But I am sure, these features should be coming soon.
